Chrome Divas of Cedar Rapids give the Madge Phillips Center Shelter a remodel
Waypoint Services announces the reveal of the Madge Phillips Center Shelter remodel project completed by the Chrome Divas of Cedar Rapids. The Madge Phillips Center Shelter is a homeless shelter for women and children in the Cedar Rapids area. The Chrome Divas of Cedar Rapids raised funds for Waypoint Services through their annual Santa Lil' Divas event in December, a portion of the funds went to Waypoint Wonderland (an event to help Waypoint Services client's get Christmas presents for their children) and the remodel of the Madge Phillips Center Shelter.
The shelter was in need of some TLC, since the last remodel was done awhile back. The homeless shelter has 16 bedrooms with 40 beds, serving approximately 25-30 women and children at a given time. The Chrome Divas have been busy painting, creating murals, purchasing toys, getting new furniture, etc. They want women to feel inspired during their stay at the shelter and have hope their situation will get better.
